il Bisonte

Established in 1970 by Wanny Di Filippo as an artisan workshop, Il Bisonte flagship store is located in the historic Palazzo Corsini in Via del Parione 31r (055/215722), just off Via Tornabuoni and the Lungarno.
Handbags, travel bags, briefcases, billfolds, diaries, belts and timeless items are made almost exclusively of the finest vacchetta leather, a natural vegetable-tanned hide that becomes increasingly beautiful as age and sunlight build a patina on its surface.
But where does the name Bisonte come from? "I was always fascinated by the feeling of peace and power that the bison symbolizes" explains Wanny Di Filippo. "For some it was the source of life and continuity, I mean people who freely roamed what is now America: it is a symbol that I gladly use to sign my products”.
It now distributes its products throughout the world and has single-brand stores in Europe, America and Japan.
