Laura Vari has been been involved in physiotherapy and fitness for over 20 years. She lived in New York for 5 years, qualifiying as a “Certified Pilates Instructor” at the Drago’s Gym, today True Pilates, with Romana Kryzanowska, who was a favourite student and follower of the creator of the J.H.Pilates method. Laura tells us about her experience in New York, Bermuda and Florida, where she used the Pilates method on people of various ages, professions and physical conditions, in particular get to know youR Body with to tennis and golf players. The Pilates method in fact helps to strengthen our “power house”, the source of strength, and helps the stomach and gluteal muscles as well as the internal thigh and lumbar muscles supporting the spine, thus improving posture and therefore the balance and harmony of the entire muscular system. It gives an improved articular mobility that also helps to develop knowledge of oneself and is therefore the perfect discipline for improving physical condition, general aspect and health. It can be used at all ages, for women before and after giving birth, for men, adolescents, athletes and also for people who have never carried out any sporting activities. Laura Vari has now opened the first “True Pilates” centre in Florence, equipped with machines constructed from the original designs by J. H. Pilates. Here she gives individual lessons, or for small groups, all personalised to meet the various requirements and characteristics of the participants.
