CORRI LA VITA or RUN FOR LIFE, the popular Florentine all-in-one event that unites sport, charity, culture and social commitment, will be held this year on September 27th. It is not simply a foot race, but also a walk for families and was created to help the public health structures specialised in the fight against breast cancer. Professional athletes, as well as amateurs will therefore once more animate the streets of the city for this occasion and tackle, according to their age and level of preparation, one of the two routes-itineraries that differ in length and difficulty. The official 10 Km competitive race will in fact be accompanied by a 5 km walk that starts out from Piazza Santa Croce and arrives in Piazzale Michelangiolo, going past little known Florentine beauty spots, including many historic palaces, museums and gardens, all open for the occasion. All registered participants will receive a “race-pack”, as well as a t-shirt donated by the Salvatore Ferragamo fashion house of Florence, which supports the initiative.
