Florence Journal is a blog about moving to and living in Florence written by an American couple with two young children. They moved to Florence in September of 2005 and the blog is now in its second year (there are now over
200 articles). They write about what it takes to live here legally,

Italian wine,

travel tips, and
things to do in and
around Florence (among other topics!). There are also some great pictures in their
photo albums. You can sign up for email alerts for when the site is updated, or leave them a comment on any of their posts. It is a great blog with a lot of useful and interesting information about Florence.
The Florence Journal does a magnificent job of creating a comprehensive guide that assists travelers who are planning to stay in Florence for any amount of time.
The articles are written by an American couple who are currently living in Florence with their two young children.
The authors moved to Florence in September of 2005 which enables them to pick out the subtle differences between the American lifestyle and Italian culture. The writing style is conversational and each blog entry is brimming with useful information.
Along with chronologically displaying each entry, the articles are categorized on the right hand side of the page.
Under each category the reader can find all of the archived articles pertaining to a particular subject.
This site is also nice because it is easy to navigate, and the advertising is not obtrusive.
Florence Journal includes firsthand testimonials from the authors' personal and family experiences when traveling, shopping, and dining in Florence. These stories provide an abundance of hints on where to find bargains, coupled with a few cautionary tales.
The blog also includes an multiple links to credible and useful internet sites for both Americans trying to immerse themselves in the Italian culture, and those who are simply visiting.
The topics that it addresses range from locations where Italian language classes are held, to a list of museum and special exhibits open to the public.
The blog goes beyond the normal traveler's guide by including a section which sorts through Italian news and extracts topics that might be of interest to people who are visiting Florence.
In addition the authors take the time to cite American publications like the
New York Times when they have printed pertinent articles.
Overall,
Florence Journal does a remarkable job of acting as an all-inclusive guide for the English speaking traveler.
It is a great resource that is worth checking out.
