The Race or Bravio of St. Reparata
[
]

This race is a historic revival of the one traditionally held to celebrate St. Reparata, symbol of the liberation of the city from the siege of the barbarians. It was originally run from Porta Romana and ended in
Piazza San Giovanni. Today the 7km race is run by 20 football players from the
historic Florentine football teams, who compete wearing their costumes and carrying a lit torch. It starts out in and returns to Piazza San Giovanni and is run through the streets of the old city centre. October 8th at 6pm, start of race.
