Feeling fit? Enjoy running or fit-walking?
Sign on for Vivi Cittą or Live the City, an international half marathon of about 21,097 km that is one of the most important sports events in the city and open to people of all ages and levels.
You are sure to enjoy it as it offers the chance to run or walk through a traffic-free city in the company of some of the world's greatest athletic champions, as well as the locals, while also enjoying the beautiful streets and squares of Florence. A full immersion in other words into the Italian way of life! Departure and arrival are in beautiful Piazza Santa Croce and you can usually sign on for the marathon, at the latest, on the day before. There are several prizes in euro, according to age and sex, but all participants are given a Vivicittą T-shirt and a race snack box to help sustain them on the long trek. This year's race will be held on Sunday April 2nd.

The 33rd Guarda Firenze (Look at Florence), is a marathon race that starts out and arrives in Piazza Duomo and is organised by Florence Marathon in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the Health Service. It is open to children, students, teachers, adults and senior citizens, in other words, whoever wants to join in.
A sporting cum tourist event, the route it follows through the city highlights its many attractions and splendid monuments. Schools can take part in a contest on the elements of historical interest encountered along the route.
It involves both families, athletes and ordinary citizens and is an attempt to encourage a healthy way of life, both physically and psychologically, as this has been proved to be the best preventive medicine. Blood donation is also encouraged.
The Look at Florence event includes the Mini-Run for the young, a fit-walking race (you need to take a special test to be able to take part), and the 10km Look at Florence marathon itself. Inscription is usually required 2-3 days before, which is why we are mentioning it well ahead of time. You need to be fit!
