Ask at Florence Student Point

Every year thousands of young people come to Florence to study, whether at the Florence University, or to spend a term or a year abroad at one of the American colleges or universities with faculties in Florence. Others are here to take a Ph.D. at the European University Institute in Fiesole or just for a course in Italian language, art, crafts and even Tuscan cuisine at one of the many schools in town. They now can find information and assistance at the Florence Student Point, an office managed by
APT (the Florence Tourist Board) in cooperation with ARDSU (Regional Board for the rights for university education in Florence), which runs the Florence University Student Office.
The new offices have just opened on the ground floor of Via San Gallo 25, with direct access from the street and inside the imposing former convent of Sant'Apollonia, now completely restored.
Here students can find tourist information and assistance, advice on accommodation and lists of places to stay, information on events, schools, places to study, medical assistance, museum opening times and student fares, as well as details on the Florence University grant system, and so on. Leaflets containing useful and detailed information can also be picked up free from this office, along with a wide range of brochures, maps and guides.
The Student Card issued at the Student Point has been devised to meet the needs of students in Florence and entitles the holder to discounts in many shops, bars, restaurants, discos, student canteens, museums and exhibitions, trains and buses, sports facilities, bike rentals and so on. There is no age limit required for a Student Card, you only have to go to the Student Point office, fill in a form and provide some proof that you are a student (like enrolment on a course).
The Student Card is valid for 1 year from the date of issue and, for the moment anyway, completely free.
We warmly advise you to visit the Florence Student Point in Via San Gallo 25 if you are studying in Florence as you will find it extremely helpful for your stay here.
Opening hours are Monday-Friday 9am-2pm.
