The Silver Museum at Pitti Palace possesses an extraordinary collection of jewels, which once belonged to the Medici family and were left to Florence by the last surviving member of the royal line, Anna Maria Luigia the Electress Palatine.The jewels are all extremely rare, some of them quite extraordinary and not only reflect the tastes of their time but also the essence of the artists who created them: painters, sculptors, architects and the goldsmiths who were capable of transforming an ornament into a historical artefact.
