Never Seen Before

The fourth edition of the I Mai Visti exhibition. It hosts works of art of great interest and value which are usually conserved in the museums storerooms and thus are not on view to the public. This year the theme is landscapes. A journey through the centuries from the first primitive artists up to the present days.The various sections are not intended to offer a detailed history of landscapes in art, but instead give an idea as to how nature was seen by man in the past, often peaceful, almost idyllic, and in some cases, a true reflection of the inner soul. The exhibition includes works by artists like Botticelli, Brueghel, Poussin, Van Wittel, Guercino, Morandi, Balla and many others.
The Never Seen Before is promoted by the Association AMICI DEGLI UFFIZI Onlus with significant contributions from the Ente Cassa di Risparmio, the Fondiaria - Sai and the Giunti publishing house as far as the exhibition catalogue is concerned.
The Exhibition is on display the rooms of the Royal Post Office at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence until January 30th. Entrance is free. Opening times: 10am - 5pm. Closed on Mondays.
