From September 9th until October 24th Florence will house the exhibition Col Segno di Poi. Photography in Tuscany from 1980-2002 (Sala del fiorino e della Musica,
Palazzo Pitti) a choice of works from ten tuscan photographers of the last two decades. The aim of the exhibition is to point out the two main directions developed by the local artistic scene: photography as a vision of human inner-space (the confidential side) and photography as an emotional tool showing shocking realities (spectacular side). Two complementary lines that pervade the opera of all the authors exposed: Marco Baroncelli, Carlo Cantini, Alessandra Capodacqua, Giacomo Costa, Aldo Fallai, Lorenzo Giotti, Luciana Majoni, Dominique Papi, Alessandro Sardelli e Daniela Tartaglia, placing their studies in a wider international landscape, underlining how the work of these reknowned prefessionists influenced the artistic vision of contemporary photography worldwide. That’s why the selection is based on the artistic quality of images more than the documentary (press-oriented) side.
The exhibition provides two sets of operas for each photographer, the first set shows the evolution of the stylistic key feature of every artist along their whole career, the second set focuses on the last works, the crystallization of every style and the experimental solutions to come. The exhibition will take place at 'Sala del Fiorino' and at 'Sala della Musica' inside the
Pitti Palace, this fascinating rooms of neoclassical taste covered in antique marmo cipollino will be trasformed in an interactive experience by a modern setting realized by the Interior Designer Claudio Piccini.
Check the new wave of Photography from Tuesday to Sunday from 8.15 to 13.50. You can visit the exhibition with the same ticket of the Galleria d'Arte Moderna in Pitti Palace.
